RECAP
Welp! Still unemployed. Still putting in job applications. The world is ever teetering on the knife’s edge that is WW3. The job market sucks. Prices are rising across the board. What a time to be alive!
As for my homelab… Well, given I’m still unemployed, it’s been slow purchasing things to expand it. So I haven’t put any further effort into figuring out how to build an OPNsense box. Will it be a physical box? Will it be a VM on my NAS through TrueNAS? Wait until the next episode boys and girls! I did, however, deploy lidarr, add a music library and deploy Navidrome. I also deployed Beets to help with correcting tags and metadata. I’m still working out the kinks.
AND NOW, TODAY’S EPISODE
In an effort to help myself, I’ve done a few extra things:
- I added to my resume my recent role as HOA President
- I started, and am very close to completing, the Coursera Google Project Management collection of courses. I just started Course 6 of 7. I’m fairly certain it’s not an official certification, but I’m hoping it still means something to some recruiter or hiring authority.
- Oh, not to mention I completely reformatted it to conform to ATS standards.
I must say, the longer I am unemployed, the more the whole process of claiming unemployment and applying for jobs and everything in between, it all just feels like an exercise in futility. And because nobody reads these things, it’s easy to say without repercussion.
